Kent Wildlife Trust pledge to “Flood the Streets” in support of the march for clean water

On the 3rd November, representatives from Kent Wildlife Trust will join tens of thousands of environmentalists, community groups, water sports clubs, individuals and more will be flooding the streets of London with a clear message to the new Government - STOP THE POISONING OF BRITAIN'S WATERS.

The March for Clean Water is a coalition of over 100 organisations and groups who are fed up and agree about the state of Britain's waters and the lack of action to restore them to health. We are coming together to demand the Government stop pollution for profit, enforce the law and reform regulation.

The date of the march marks just over 100 days since the new government took power. While they have inherited the problem of unsafe and unclean water, it is important for us to maintain pressure to ensure that they take it seriously and deliver the needed legislation as soon as possible.

Time is not on our side, and we cannot afford for this issue to roll over into the next parliament session. Our rally will emphasise the urgency of the matter, appealing to a broad and diverse section of the public, collecting a number of supporters and famous faces sympathetic to our cause to put on a creative spectacle of speeches, stunts, music, & artwork that the government, and the public, cannot ignore.

This will be less of a protest, and more of a peaceful rally, channelling all these years of pent up anger to convey a tone of collaboration, hope and urgency, with a clear set of asks and reminders that if we don't see immediate action, then we will be back in larger numbers.
