Campaign with us for Kent's Wildlife

Kent Wildlife Trust is working to raise awareness of the issues affecting wildlife. We campaign for positive change for nature and people and helping local communities to save special places for wildlife. We welcome the support of Kent's communities with these campaigns - together we can work to protect wildlife now and into the future.

Take a look at our most recent campaigns and find out how you can get involved to speak up for wildlife in our county.

Defend Nature

The government’s plan to revoke post-Brexit regulations will see 570 laws surrounding habitat protection, water quality and sewage pollution scrapped in December 2023. The plans not only put wildlife and public health at risk, but also renege on the government’s pledge to halt the decline of nature by 2030.

We are asking for people to write to their MP to ask them to put a stop to these harmful changes to legislation. People can also sign up to receive news and updates from the Trust.

Lower Thames Crossing

The Lower Thames Crossing is a proposed new road which will connect Kent with Essex by tunnelling beneath the River Thames estuary.  Kent Wildlife Trust is opposed to these plans as they will result in the loss of irreplaceable ancient woodland.

Action for Insects

41% of insect species face extinction, driven mainly by loss of habitat and pesticide overuse. By working together, we can change the future of insects. Starting right now, you can make small changes in your home, lifestyle and community that will help these fascinating creatures.

Will you help the most important creatures on the planet?

Two new planning applications for a hotel and a surf pool seriously threaten the ability of this ecological mitigation to be effective and would put even further strain on the precious habitats and species that rely on this site for their survival.

Save Oaken Wood

Help Save Oaken Wood!  This quarry extension is one of the biggest threats of the 21st century - having already destroyed 32ha of ancient wood in 2013, new quarry plans threaten at least another 50ha.
