From 11am people will be able to listen to talks from the Wilder Blean Team, hear from Ranger Donovan Wright about how the animals have settled in and tour the beautiful ancient woodland.
Visitors will be able to see exclusive bison footage of the animals exploring their new surroundings, take part in arts and crafts for both adults and children and enjoy food and drink from local businesses.
The event is on a pay-what-you-can ticketing system and tickets can be acquired on Kent Wildlife Trusts website: Bison Festival | Kent Wildlife Trust
Wilder Kent Education and Engagement Officer, Elysia Davies said: “We are so excited that the Wilder Blean Project has reached this epic milestone, and there are now wild bison in the woodland, reshaping the landscape to make room for wildlife to thrive.
“We want to share our pure joy at reaching this stage with the community and have created this event in partnership with Wildwood Trust so that people can come together, learn about the project and most importantly of all – have fun!”
The event has been planned in partnership with Blean Primary school, local parish councillors, local Kent County Council and Canterbury City Council, the Canterbury Society, and other local representatives.
