Join Bird WIse North Kent and Kent Wildlife Trust's Protected Area Warden this International Women’s Day for a FREE guided walk to explore the wonderful coastal wildlife on these protected wetlands whilst also boosting your confidence at bird watching. This is also a great opportunity for anyone to learn more about women’s roles in conservation and how you can support our work at Oare Marshes and the wider Swale Estuary.

WD Women's Wildlife Walk - Oare Marshes Nature Reserve
Celebrate International Women's Day with a special Wildlife Walk at the beautiful Oare Marshes Nature Reserve!
Join us for a leisurely stroll through the reserve, guided by knowledgeable experts who will share insights about the local flora and fauna. This event is a wonderful opportunity to connect with nature and like-minded individuals in a safe and friendly environment.
The walk is suitable for beginners and experienced birders alike. Well behaved dogs are welcome but they must be kept on a lead to avoid disturbance.
Meeting place: The main car park at Oare Marshes Reserve, Church Road, Faversham. There is a charged parking on site costing £2.50 a day.
Time: 10.30am - 12.30pm
Facilities: There are no facilities on site, the nearest toilets are located at the Cafe on the Creek, or at Sainsburys which you will pass on the way in.
Type of walk: Walking on mostly hard paths with some muddy sections around the reserve. The walk will be short with plenty of opportunities to stop and view the birds we spot along the way and some places to sit down. Suitable walking shoes are recommended as it may be muddy.
