Join us at Tyland Barn for a Christmas treat for the whole family. Make a natural decoration, follow our special Christmas trail and enjoy some time around the campfire.

About the event

As Christmas approaches we're feeling festive at Tyland Barn! Bring the family to make a nature-inspired hanging decoration using wood slices from one of our reserves. You'll then head off to explore the grounds on a seasonal trail. Can you help the wildlife send their winter wishes to Father Christmas? After all that exploring, it will be time to relax and warm up with a hot chocolate made on the campfire.

We'll provide all the materials needed for the activities, and you'll be able to keep your wooden decoration to use at home. As we'll be crafting and exploring outside you may like to bring something to protect clothing or wear something easy to clean- and don't forget to dress for the weather!

Tyland Barn is a natural environment with unfenced ponds, so children must be accompanied and supervised by an adult at all times. £12 tickets give admission for one child and one adult. These events are popular with accompanying adults too! To help with capacity, any additional adults attending will require their own ticket. Free spaces are available for babies and toddlers who are too young to take part in the activities (recommended for over 3 years, but this is at your discretion). Please make sure you book a ticket for everyone attending in your group, and a £12 or £10 ticket for all children taking part with the crafts and campfire.

Tickets are available for two sessions each afternoon. Sessions are scheduled for 1.5 hours, but please note that the timings are approximate as everyone will approach the activities at a different pace. You may find you have finished before the suggested time or that you would like to stay a little longer. You are welcome to be onsite any time between 10am and 4pm. The light levels for the event will vary according to the time you book, older children looking forward to exploring as the sun sets may prefer the later time slot!

Unfortunately tickets cannot be refunded within 30 days of the event. We will try our best to transfer you to a new session if needed, but cannot guarantee availability.
