About the event

If you love woodlands, forest gardening could be for you!

Inspired by the canopies of the forest, this gardening technique allows you to maximise your space, mimic natural systems and reduce inputs.

Led by Ellen, Kent Wildlife Trust's Wild About Gardens Officer, and Natasha, an RHS Level 2 qualified gardener and forest gardening enthusiast, we’ll start by taking a look at the wonders of woodland habitats and the features that make them special.

We’ll then share ways you could try to bring the forest feeling to your garden, replicating those natural woodland canopies with combinations that work for you and your space- perhaps you could grow a fruit tree as your upper canopy, incorporate herb shrubs in the lower canopy, and use strawberries as your ground cover.

Whether you have an established wooded area in a large garden, are interested in transforming a blank canvas using the forest as your inspiration, or would like to add some woodland magic to your balcony, we’ll be including ideas for all types of spaces.

This talk will take place on Zoom. Ticket holders will be emailed the link to join the meeting the day before the event, on Tuesday 15th October.
