Celebrate spring at Hothfield Heathland by meeting the reserve warden to discover the heath's flora and fauna.
About the event
Uncover the signs of spring on this tour of Hothfield Heathlands with its warden. You'll discover the early flowers and breeding birds that this special reserve supports as the new season arrives and fresh spring growth returns.
You'll then be guided through the process of upside-down fire building before making hot drinks and toasting snacks on the flames in the beautiful surroundings of the heathland.
This safari will last approximately 4 hours and much of the time will be spent walking or standing. Much of the route follows surfaced paths, but these can be muddy. Ensure you wear sturdy footwear (during periods of wet weather waterproof footwear is advisable) and clothing suitable for the weather conditions.
Please note there are no toilet facilities at the reserve, and no refreshments are available to purchase on site. Campfire snacks will be provided but you are welcome to bring your own food and drink with you. A bottle of water is recommended.
This safari is aimed at an adult audience, 14-17 year olds may attend with an accompanying adult over 18. Hoping to bring the children? Family Wildlife Watch Safaris are available during school holidays, see /safaris for availability.
