About the event
The Wilder Blean Initiative is a partnership project with the other eNGOs that own nature reserves across the Blean, RSPB and Woodland Trust. In sum, this is a really important area of ancient woodland that is home to a number of threatened species, including the recently introduced European bison family, lesser spotted woodpeckers, and our native pollinators. Alongside, this is also an important place for the local community rich in heritage and identity.
To boost these communities, one of our key goals it to make sure the people have a strong voice in the decision-making elements of the future vision for the Blean. Earlier this year, we started working collaboratively, creating a community advisory group. We like to see this include a broad representation of our community members, who often get overlooked in decision making yet will be and are responsible for the Blean today and in the future.
So, this is where you come in! We are really interested in ways of building together and engaging more people, but it’s more than just engagement, we would love to consolidate a Blean Community Advisory Group that can be the voice for this generation, now and in the future, for the Blean.
Come and meet us face to face to start building a vision for the Blean. Together, as the Community Advisory Group, let's create a strategy to help shape and strengthen the future of this landscape.
This event will be at Tyler Hill Memorial Hall.
