Uncover what it takes to transform a golf green into a wildlife haven at this ever-changing reserve.
About the event
Join the Area Manager to explore this lovely reserve and see how nature is leading the way in its recovery. Previously an intensively managed golf green, with care from the Kent Wildlife Trust team this land has now developed into a haven for wildlife.
Discover how we measure the site's wildlife, spot some of the rare things that call this reserve home and hike up to the summit to see some amazing views.
This is a great opportunity, especially for those who have watched the changes to the reserve over the last year, to come, meet the reserve manager, and ask questions about what has been achieved so far and our plans for the future.
Safaris will last approximately 2.5 hours and most of the time will be spent walking or standing. Much of the route follows surfaced paths, but these can be muddy. Ensure you wear sturdy footwear (during periods of wet weather waterproof footwear is advisable) and clothing suitable for the weather conditions.
Please note that there are no toilet facilities available at the reserve, and no refreshments available to purchase. You are welcome to bring your own food and drink. A bottle of water is recommended.
This safari is aimed at an adult audience, 14–17 year olds may attend with an accompanying adult over 18.
