Kent Wildlife Trust will use the funds raised to involve the local community groups in creating wildlife-friendly spaces, such as mini wild-flower meadows that can be enjoyed by local people. The charity will work with a range of groups, including youth groups, Girl Guides and housing associations.
Mary Blackwell, Community Manager for Kent Wildlife Trust, said: “We’re thrilled benefit from this funding. Getting local people involved in our projects not only helps wildlife flourish locally, it also has huge benefits for people’s wellbeing and local communities.”
