They are a great way to find out more about volunteering for different organisations, learn new skills and meet new people.
Health and Wellbeing Event – Wednesday 1 March

Come along to our pop up shop for a FREE NHS health check, mental and physical health information and advice, FREE creative activity, recipes, outdoor activities, volunteering opportunities and more.
Celebrating International Women’s Day Thanet – Saturday 18 March
12noon to 2pm – Turner Contemporary (Foyle Rooms) Margate CT9 1HG
Kent Coast Volunteering and Soroptimist International Thanet welcome you to an event to celebrate women’s work in the voluntary sector and the potential of women and girls in Thanet.
Explore volunteering opportunities, network and make connections at more than 20 information stalls from charities, community groups and support services supporting women and girls, or led by women.
Free Confidence Building courses.
This basic-level, introductory one-day training is aimed at people who are thinking about volunteering or getting back to the workplace as an option, but perhaps need a bit of a boost before taking that first step.
You must be aged 19 or over, unwaged (unemployed/retired/house person) or low-waged.
The course is taking place in:
- Dover - Wednesday 1 March and Wednesday 19 April the Beacon Church Hall, Dover
- Folkestone - Tuesday 28 February and Tuesday 18 April Folkestone Nepalese community centre
- Thanet - Monday 27 February The Gap Project, Broadstairs and Thursday 20 April Margate Caves
We then aim to follow up with you to help you find a volunteering role if you are interested.
