Immerse yourself in nature, gain valuable skills, and contribute to preserving our wild spaces. We understand that everyone’s schedule is different, which is why we offer flexible volunteer commitments that fit around studying, work, family life and much more. Whether you can spare a few hours a week, a couple of days a month, or just occasional weekends, we have opportunities that fit your availability and will add fulfilment to your days. No matter how much you can give, you make a significant impact.
Outdoor Task Days run throughout the county on a weekly basis. You'll be volunteering alongside our Area Wardens and a team of friendly volunteers, helping us to manage our reserves for wildlife. Our work is seasonal, with mainly repairs and survey work taking place throughout the summer months, and our practical reserve management work taking place between September and March. There is opportunity for you to learn to use habitat management power tools, if you wish. Although there can be heavy lifting tasks, this is completely optional and with plenty of people to support.
