About the event

This is a rare opportunity to visit Ham Fen, a nature reserve that is usually closed to the public. Learn about the restoration of the fen and see for yourself the amazing work that is being carried out by our resident beaver colony.

The morning will consist of a walk around the reserve with one of our wardens, to learn about this unique habitat and to observe evidence of beaver activity.

Those attending this event will be shown signs of beaver activity but the animals themselves are not usually very active during the day.  Beavers are mostly active at dusk and dawn.

The entrance to Ham Fen is on Hay Lane, nr Eastry. The reserve car park is through a gate on the left if you’re coming from the direction of Deal Road. Our gate is opposite the entrance to Hambrooke Farm. See map Or use What3Words co-ordinates.  Please be aware that there is no Kent Wildlife Trust signage as the reserve is not usually open to visitors.
